Hi everyone. I’m Natalie, an Architecture and Urban Design student, and I’d love to look after our MCR social calendar for the coming year.

Aside from great formals and the atmosphere of our famous bar, what I think is really important for the coming year is that we continue to make the MCR feel as inclusive as possible. A lot can be achieved through the little touches that will just make everyone really feel at home in the MCR family, and I want to help put platforms in place for that kind of interaction to happen. Everyone deserves to feel part of this very special and talented group of people that we find ourselves in, and we all should all be able to have fun with it. I hope to expand on the great times we’ve had this year thanks to Jac and Dom and to allow people to continue to feel proud, engaged with, and very much part of our social activities. As well as focusing on the formals, bops and socials, I also want to test out ways in which we can create a greater sense of community within the accommodation blocks through more regular, spontaneous get togethers and smaller events. I’m also already putting things in place with the Welfare officers to integrate our efforts into some exciting social plans to happen outside of the bar environment. I would’t want the coming social year to feel prescriptive or too repetitive, so I am willing to embrace a diversity of ideas to continue Clare’s reputation as one of the most sociable colleges for grads.

Here’s to a really inclusive, exciting year for us all. This should be fun!

I am Sneha. I’m a first year PhD student. I have enjoyed working at the Clare Bar the past two terms, and would like to help maintain its a.) great choices of beer and whiskey!, b.) its central location, c.)great prices and d.) the amazing feel of the place. I would like to help Jonathan in his idea of purchase monitoring, and optimise our spending to allow for purchases like clasps for hanging gin bottles, for fast n efficient G&T’s.
