[VOLUNTEER] CHaOS: inspire children to enjoy science (and do some fun experiments…)
CHaOS is looking for volunteers to help out at “Crash, Bang, Squelch!” – a huge hands-on family science day on Saturday 14th March 2015 (just after the end of term, at the New Museums Site). As part of the Cambridge Science Festival we’ll be running experiments to explain the science behind everyday events to kids young and old, and we need scientists of all kinds (medics, engineers, natscis, compscis, mathmos, vets…) to help explain what’s going on.
No experience necessary, enthusiasm helps, refreshments (and even free lunch) provided.

Building Bridges in Medical Sciences (BBMS) is hosting its seventh conference organized by graduate students of the Graduate School of Life Sciences.
The conference aims to bring together scientists from different disciplines, career stages and countries and emphasizes the need for interdisciplinary approaches to tackling the biomedical research and global health challenges of the 21st century. This year will feature prominent speakers from various scientific disciplines, such as basic research, clinical practice, public health policy, industrial enterprise and more.
Registration is free for all attendees and includes complimentary lunch and refreshments. This year we will be joined once again by graduate students from abroad. We will also be hosting a poster competition, lunchtime workshops and networking sessions. Anyone interested in giving a short student talk, do get in touch with us with an abstract.

[EVENT] Cartesian recruitment event: Thursday at Trinity Hall
Cartesian, is a strategy consulting firm focusing on the communications, technology and digital media industries. We have a number of opportunities within our London team coming up – both for recent/upcoming graduates and postgraduates, and summer interns. You will be asked about your sexual attractions and experiences as well as background information such as the type of school you attended and the genders of your close friends. Catherine will discuss the practicalities of curating an exhibition of this scale and some of the challenges involved in bringing activist objects into a major museum. Learn about how she worked with activist groups, designed the exhibition space and found innovative ways to bring the objects alive for the public.

[EVENT] EBI-Sanger-Cambridge PhD Symposium (eSCAMPS)
FREE registration submission is still OPEN for all Cambridge PhD students (subject to capacity limits). The deadline for abstract submission is now closed, but you can attend without presenting. There is only 17 days leftThe EBI-Sanger-Cambridge PhD Symposium (eSCAMPS) is an annual one-day event for postgraduate students at the University of Cambridge and affiliated institutes. We aim to cover a broad range of topics in biomedical research, including biotechnology and informatics. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 18th February 2015 at Magdalene College, Cambridge.
This year, we have invited five fantastic keynote speakers:
