For those who enjoy showing visitors around and stories about the oddities and delights of the town and university- Earn £20 leading walking tours.
Description: Lead groups of visitors around a designed route (not into the colleges) for 1.5 hours
Pay: £20 per tour apart from the training shadow tour
Frequency: Depends on the season, between 5-10 tours per month

Guiding FAQS
Do I need to write the tour?
No, we’ve written a script so you learn the dates & facts then add in your own stories and experiences 🙂
How long is a tour?
1.25- 1.5 hrs
How many people would I lead?
1-25 people. The average number is around 8
Who would I lead?
People of all ages from all over the world.
Is there training?
Yes after you learn the script you will will attend a training session which includes shadowingan experienced guide & practicing bits of the tour. We’ll also give you feedback after your first tours so you’re able to improve the experience and do the best you can.
How would I be assigned to tours?
It’s very simple. We send you a list of dates and times of possible tours usually a week before.You email us within 48hrs with your availability. After 48hrs we’ll have assigned the guides. If you are confirmed we will send you further information about the students and the contact number of the the head of the group you’ll be meeting.
How do I get paid?
We send you an invoice template. You send us an invoice. We wire the money within 2 weeks. Remember the 1st tour is unpaid.
