[Event] TEDx ‘Breaking the Mould- an Integrative experience’
Dear TEDxers,
We would like to invite you to join us in exploring issues surrounding acceptance and diversity. ‘Breaking the Mould- an Integrative experience’ is set to be an important evening of discussion, featuring special guests sharing their thoughts over a buffet and live music. The event will run from 6-9.30pm on Thursday 2nd November at the Olive Grove, 100 Regent Street, CB2 1DP. Tickets are £10, including entrance to the event, a Greek buffet and live music. Sergeant Gina Denham, a transgender policewoman, will describe her experiences transitioning and working in the relatively rigid system of the police force. Chris Hemmings, the author of ‘Be a Man’, will be discussing the ways he felt trapped in a macho persona during his youth and issues relating to male stereotypes. The event will also feature thoughts from student guests including Ryan Riordan on his decision to convert to Islam, Jun Pang on the concept of ‘othering’ and Danny Balbaaki, a spoken word artist.
