Since graduating from Clare College, Cambridge in 2008 with a Double First in Music Richard Uttley has been recognised for his ‘musical intelligence and pristine facility’ (International Record Review). Richard has featured as a Rising Star in BBC Music Magazine and was selected for representation by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) in 2011. Richard has performed at most of the UK’s major halls and his playing has frequently been broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
Richard is a passionate advocate of contemporary piano music and at Kettle’s Yard will perform Day Break Shadows Flee by Master of the Queen’s Music Judith Weir CBE and a new commission by contemporary composer Matthew Kaner.
Described as “sumptuous and glittery and virtuoso” by The Telegraph Richard will also play a selection of works from his album Ghosts and Mirrors.
