[JOB OPPORTUNITY] STUDY ON MANDARIN NARRATIVE PRODUCTION BY CHINESE-ENGLISH BILINGUALS

Seeking Chinese-English bilinguals to participate in an experiment on Mandarin narrative
production. Native speakers of Mandarin with all levels of proficiency (from low to highly
advanced) are welcome.
Requirements:

• First language is Mandarin (any proficiency)
• Second language is English (any proficiency)
• You first arrived in an English-speaking country either between ages 4-10 OR after age 16
• Normal or corrected vision
• Normal hearing
• Age 18 or over
• The experiment is in two parts, taking place exactly one week apart.
  In Part 1 lasting 1 hour, you will fill in a language background questionnaire, complete proficiency tests in Mandarin and English, and narrate a 10-page picture story in Mandarin.
  In Part 2 lasting 20 minutes, you will listen to a short recorded story in Mandarin and narrate another 10-page picture story in Mandarin.
  Your story narrations in both parts will be audio-recorded. Testing will take place during March in the English Faculty Building. All participants will be entered into a draw to win one of two £50 Amazon gift vouchers. If you are interested in participating, please contact yx310@cam.ac.uk.
