[RESEARCH VOLUNTEER] Spot Depression Study: Call for Participants
Can depression and bipolar disorder be diagnosed using a spot of dried blood?
That’s what the Cambridge Centre for Neuropsychiatric Research here at the University of Cambridge is trying to find out in its new research study. We are currently recruiting volunteers to complete an online questionnaire and collect a dried blood spot using a kit delivered to their home.
We are looking for individuals diagnosed with:
- Depression,
- Bipolar disorder, and
- No mental illness
Please visit www.spot-depression.org if you are interested in participating. Please note that personal data for this study is stored securely and research data is marked only with an anonymous code. Ethics approval for this study was granted by the Human Biology Research Ethics Committee (HBREC.2015.06). For more information, visit http://ccnr.ceb.cam.ac.uk/spotdepression/FAQ or contact Dr Jordan Ramsey at jmr201@cam.ac.uk.
With your help, we hope that we can move toward developing molecular tests for these disorders to ensure individuals receive prompt diagnosis and treatment.
Thanks in advance for your help with our research.
