[NOTICE] LAWBOT
Dear Clare MCR,
My name is Rebecca Agliolo, a final year law student at the University of Cambridge.
I would like to to introduce you to the world’s most advanced Chatbot lawyer: LawBot.
Created over the summer by a group of Cambridge law students passionate about access to justice, LawBot merges technology and law to serve victims of injustice. Anyone who has been the victim of a crime (or is simply curious about how the law applies to them) can talk to our artificially intelligent chatbot, receive LawBot’s opinion on whether they have been the victim of a crime, and then decide which available actions to pursue.
Law governs and effects everyday life, yet it is often perceived as inaccessible to non-lawyers. Though it cannot provide actionable legal advice, LawBot brushes through ‘legalese’ to distribute understandable legal knowledge to every individual.
LawBot can currently comment on 26 offences under its Criminal Justice Project, a list that is expanding every day. In addition, we run a blog discussing contemporary legal issues and providing support for victims of crimes. Our site is completely free, confidential, and secure.
I was wondering if you could include LawBot in your next MCR newsletter? As a not-for-profit, completely free service, we don’t have an advertising budget, so are relying on our Cambridge network to generate awareness. We only launched today, and have seen unprecedented traffic to the site; we hope to go national next week, and any additional promotion would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
Rebecca Agliolo
