[EVENT] Oxbridge Canadian Conference, Friday 30th May, London

Calling all Canadian grads, postgrads and postdocs!!

We’d like to draw your attention to this year’s Oxbridge Canadian Conference at the MacDonald House in London on May 30. This year’s conference theme is “Spotlighting Canadian Contributions to Global Research Excellence” and our keynote speaker will be Elizabeth Palmer, Canadian journalist for CBS Evening news.

We are looking for ATTENDEES as well as 4-5 PRESENTERS, so if you are looking for an opportunity to showcase your research, this is your chance to do so! This conference is open to Canadian graduate students at all UK universities, as well as Canadian early-career researchers who have obtained their PhD within the past two years. Non-Canadian students doing research in a Canada-related field are also welcomed. The conference fee is £35 and includes a superb hot lunch.

[EVENT] Jamie Phillips conducts CUCO with Melanie Ragge, Saturday 10th May, 8pm, West Road Concert Hall

On Saturday 10 May, CUCO will be joined by Jamie Phillips (who was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Hallé Orchestra aged just 22) to perform a highly diverse programme featuring works by Haydn, Bartók and Beethoven as well as Martinů’s Oboe Concerto, which will be performed by the brilliant Melanie Ragge. All audience members are invited to our post-concert reception to meet Jamie, Melanie and the orchestra.

[VOLUNTEER] Earn some money – participants needed for a student Psychology experiment: See how well you can concentrate and get paid for it!

Hi all,

I’m a PhD student at the MRC Cognition & Brain Sciences unit and am running an*Exciting *Fun psychology experiment on individual differences in concentration and response to words. It’s about 1.5 hours long and involves filling out several questionnaires and two simple computer tasks. You’ll get paid £11.50+.

You must be aged 18-40, native English speaker, and not currently undergoing treatment for a psychiatric condition.
