WoW festivals originated in London and have spread across the world. Join us to celebrate International Women’s Day at the Cambridge WoW festival. Topics including feminism and fashion, women footballers, hidden women in history, feminism across the ages, the male perspective, women in science and preventing violence against women. Speakers include Natasha Walter (Living Dolls), Susie Orbach (Fat is a Feminist Issue) and Lucy-Ann Holmes, of the No More Page Three Campaign. [EVENT] 108th Fencing Varsity

Saturday the 7th March will see the 108th Fencing Varsity take place in the extravagant surrounds of the Guildhall on Market Square – right in the centre of Cambridge. With a number of international level fencers across all the Blues teams, this is your chance to see some fast paced and high quality fencing up close and, of course, support the Light Blues in what promises to be a tense and hard fought Varsity Match. The Women’s Blues and Men’s 2nds will be fencing from 10am to 1pm and the Men’s Blues and Women’s 2nds matches will be from 1.15pm to 4.15pm. Entry is free – so if you’re in the centre of town please do come along and cheer for the Cambridge teams. “Reach Cambridge is looking for PhD & Post-Doctorate students to teach on our summer courses in:

Physics (29th June-17th July weekday mornings and 3rd-14th August weekday mornings & afternoons)

Chemistry & Medical Sciences (3rd-14th August weekday mornings & afternoons)

Life Science & Medicine (29th June-17th July weekday mornings)

Psychology (29th June-17th July weekday mornings and 3rd-14th August weekday mornings & afternoons)

All courses are designed to provide international high school students with a lively and engaging introduction to the subject at university level through interactive workshop sessions.

Teachers have considerable autonomy in lesson planning, are encouraged to teach their favourite topics, and are not expected to supervise students outside of teaching hours. Many of our teachers from previous years have commented on how helpful this experience was for their careers, whether academic or professional.

As well as teachers on these courses, we are looking for a Chemistry Course Coordinator, to oversee the Chemistry component of our Chemistry & Medical Sciences course.

Pay for teachers is £25/hr, up to £900.

Pay for the Chemistry Course Coordinator role is £1000.

In celebration of Rare Disease Day, the Cambridge community is launching a new initiative, the Cambridge Rare Disease Network (CRDN). On behalf of CRDN, we would like to invite you to our Launch Event at the Cambridge Judge Business School on April 2nd. We will focus on the topic of “Parent Entrepreneurship in Rare Diseases”.
