[EVENT] WHAT?: First meeting of alternative relationship styles discussion group. 22nd Jan, 8 – 10pm, Sidgwick Hall, Newnham College.
https://www.facebook.com/events/1509663809272352/
This term sees the launch of a brand new discussion group, the University of Cambridge Open Relationship and Non-monogamy Society (UniCORNS). We will be hosting open meetups with no strict agenda, for anyone interested in the theory, practicalities, and issues surrounding open relationships, non-monogamy, polyamoury, or any other member of the huge family of alternative relationship styles. Instead of speeches and question-and-answer style discussions, we’ll be hosting multiple conversations that give everyone more of a chance to engage and contribute. So if you’re already a practicing polyamorite, or if you have no idea what this bulletin is even about but want to hear more, come to one of our meetups for informal discussion and socializing.
Our first meetup is called WHAT?. We’ll be talking about what exactly alternative relationship styles are, and what the many different terms for them mean. It’ll take place on the 22nd January, 8pm, in Sidgwick Hall, Newnham. Latecomers and early leavers welcome!
Join the Facebook event to hear the latest, AND for information about how to stay in touch for future meetings, even if you can’t make it this time.

[EVENT] Work in sustainable educational resource investment in Summer 2015 with EPAfrica!
Date: 20th January Time: 20:00 Where: Bateman Auditorium, Gonville & Caius College
Interested in development, but skeptical of “unsustainable gap year” projects? EPAfrica works in over twenty schools across three regions in Kenya and Uganda and we recruit around fifty students each year from universities in Oxford, Cambridge, and London. EPAfrica aims to make a long-term impact in the schools we work in through the investment of durable educational resources and the creation of sustainable health, careers and gender equality programmes. We do not ask our volunteers to be teachers or builders, we ask them to immerse themselves in the school environment and make as large and sustainable an impact as possible. Interested? Come along to our information evening! Apply now at http://www.epafrica.org! Applications close at midnight 22nd January. For any questions, please email epafrica

[EVENT] Enlightened Perspectives: An Exhibition Working through Science and Art
In Cambridge, we are accustomed to seeing Science and Art as separate disciplines, but does this overlook the obvious synergisms? During National Science Week this year, Churchill College is to facilitate an exhibition designed to explore the intersection of Science and Art, and we are looking to display works that position art and science into a dialogue. Are you interested in visualising this fascinating relationship? If this is something you have deliberated, or would just like to explore, then please send photographs or descriptions/ideas of your work to:
Please specify dimensions and medium in this email. We are open to the receipt of all forms of artwork, including photography, paintings, drawings, sculpture, models, films, notebooks, instruments, or works in progress.
The theme is intended to be open to interpretation and the encouragement of your exploration of the impact of a fusion of Science and Art. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to showcase your visual interpretations during the prestigious National Science Week.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 1st of March 2015
EXHIBITION DATE: 9th of March 2015
