Job Description:
Varsity Academy provides short term academic course as well as rowing training
programme for Chinese students who would like to experience Cambridge
Culture and study aboard in future.
During our programmes, we would like to have a team of student advisors in a
pastoral role work alongside us to ensure that the delegates have a safe and
enjoyable time.
Duties and Responsibility:
Depending on the event, student advisors take on various duties to ensure the
welfare and safety of the participants. Below are some examples of the duties that
Student Advisors undertake as part of their role:
§ Supervising of students during the residential activities (academic and
social)
§ Sharing Cambridge student life with delegates by giving talks
§ Helping run ice-breakers and social activities in evenings
§ Ensuring that students adhere to their code of conduct
§ Liaising with Varsity staff and student ambassadors to ensure safeguarding
and health & safety policies are adhered to
§ Identifying participants in need of additional support
Requirement and Qualifications:
§ Current Cambridge University students
§ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people at required
level
§ Cultural awareness and ability to communicate appropriately with
individuals from different backgrounds
Benefits:
§ Salary is around: £400 GBP + Bonus
§ Flexible working hours and free on duty meals
