[EVENT] Maths Challenge: Creative Solutions Wanted (several prizes available)

We would like to invite the members of your college to participate in our Maths Challenge: Creative Solutions Wanted! To participate in this challenge individuals, or group of individuals, need to find different ways to solve probability problems and send those solutions to us. It is open to everybody (students, staff, friends and family) and we offer several prizes to winners.

We are very interested in seeing diverse methods to solve problems that cater for people with *any* level of Maths knowledge: what solutions would you show people who have little experience of Maths, and can you think of novel approaches suited to experts?

Prizes per round of up to £80! 1 st, 2nd and 3rd places for:

– Original Solutions

– Most Varied Solutions

We are a group of researchers from Cambridge University and Sussex University trying to understand how people represent information, so we can develop more human-like systems. With your participation, we hope to get closer to our goal of making computer systems communicate with us in more human-like and accessible ways.
