[NOTICES] Anti-feminist group speaking in Cambridge
I hope this finds you well at the start of the new term. I write as a member of the Department of POLIS and Trinity Hall, concerned about the news that an anti-feminist group with a history of harassment and intimidation of Cambridge academics is scheduled to speak in the POLIS building (ARB) on the Sidgwick Site on May 24th, squarely in the middle of the exam season. This event has been scheduled without the knowledge or consent of those faculty who work in the ARB, and the University has not responded to attempts by staff to raise concerns about safety or about the way the event was booked. Along with over 300 University members, I’ve signed this open letter to the Vice-Chancellor urging that the event be cancelled or relocated to protect student and staff safety. Please see the attached letter to the Vice Chancellor: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1p4aO2T-KZDXXlKIZDvT-c7E0qKWbWecimF6GEMXq3DQ/edit
Sincerely,
Maha
