[Notices] Advertising an Outreach Opportunity
Clare College’s Schools Liaison Officers are looking for PhD Tutors to deliver masterclasses to the most-able Year 12s as part of the HE+ programme. Tutors would be required to deliver 1 masterclass on the 7th February in Coventry, or the 12th March (Arts) or 13th March (Sciences) in Clare. The project aims to take the students beyond the curriculum and encourage them to make competitive applications to Universities like Cambridge.
The masterclasses are highly valuable for the Year 12s and very rewarding to deliver as a previous participant explains: “I was pleasantly surprised at just how engaged the school kids taking part in HE+ were: they got really stuck into the discussion, asked some very insightful questions and generally took the whole thing really seriously. Programmes like HE+ are how we can help make the Cambridge undergraduate community more inclusive and diverse, things that we pride ourselves on in the MCR. Trust me, it really is good fun, and I am a hardened cynic.”
This is a paid opportunity and all expenses will be covered.
