Clare Music Mondays
Dear all,
As the new lockdown sadly prevents us once again from being able to make live music in Clare this Lent Term, today sees the return of our Clare Music Mondays series: a weekly online offering for members of our College community and the wider public, featuring performances given by Clare musicians past and present – some of which are recorded specially during this lockdown from their homes. Performances will be released every Monday throughout the Lent Term, published on the Choir of Clare College’s social media pages and YouTube channel.
For this first Clare Music Monday of 2021, second-year Clare Music undergraduates William Harris and George Gillow perform a cello and piano recital of works by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, and Elgar, recorded at the end of last term in the College Chapel – it is a terrific performance to launch our new series. The link is: https://youtu.be/yffAEF0na4Y.
Finally, a reminder that our first ClareCast of the term, featuring words, readings and music from the Chapel and Choir is available here: https://youtu.be/8e9UMaaaRP8. This week focusses on the Parable of the Prodigal Son and features the Choir performing John Ireland’s ‘The Holy Boy’. ClareCasts will be published every Friday throughout the Term.
I hope these online offerings allow you to take some time out of your week to enjoy some of Clare’s music making during this time.
With best wishes,
Graham
