[MAY BALL] Work at Magdalene May Ball!
Magdalene May Ball (Wednesday 17th June) is looking for keen workers to help make the 2015 Ball a fantastic night for everyone. There are several available roles: Bar Worker, General Worker, Fire Marshal, Stage Manager and Clear Up, as well as the possibility of more responsibility in a management position. Unlike at other May Balls there is no ‘half-on, half-off’ policy, but workers are paid a competitive rate to compensate for this.
Charisma and enthusiasm: these skills will help make the Magdalene May Ball the best night of May Week. Previous experience is useful, but by no means essential. Training will be provided as necessary before the Ball. As well as earning money, workers will also gain experience and have a great night. Applications are now open, and close on 5th February. Interviews will be held between the 13th and 16th February. To apply please complete the online form http://goo.gl/forms/48Yqp0SGlm or for more information email me on harry.boteler
[EVENT] RAG BLIND DATE AT CLARE
‘It’s that time of year again – RAG Blind Date returns!
For anyone who hasn’t done it before, it’s genuinely one of the most social nights in Cambridge which you should do at least once, really fun and you get to meet some great people! If you don’t want to do it solo, do it with friends as a double or group date- guaranteed amusement. Last year around 3000 people got involved and all the money goes to the RAG chosen charities!
It’s simple: All you have to do is buy a form for £5 (slightly higher cost for specific bribes), fill it in (or in reality by your friends), get it back to me by JANUARY 31st, THEN we match you with someone across the university for the night of FEBRUARY 3rd which will be the date of your life heart emoticon (ladies you set these, LGBTQ+ you arrange mutually)
With bribes you can specify something about your date for extra money depending on how specific e.g. brown eyes or tall, football player or JCR prez. The more specific, the more goes to Charity. No excuse not to join in even if you’re in a relationship – there is the option for a specified friend date too!
Over the next 2 weeks Eliana (es581) will be selling forms around college and LCR which she will post times for. OR you can message her to arrange to pick one up/she can put in your pidge – either is absolutely fine!
RAG LOVE xx
(if you have any questions, happy to help)

Introduction to tea yoga:
Tea yoga is a system of healthy maintenance practice, created by Zen master Jingyan in recent years based on the traditional method of vapor therapy in ancient China and yoga from India. In the practice, we use tea leaves as the spices in the facial steaming meditation. Tea steam opens the skin’s pores while deeply cleansing and rejuvenating the skin; tea steam comes into the body and helps to open our acupuncture points and channels, clearing blockages, and stimulates the organs to balance themselves, and improve the immune system. During the whole process, you are relaxed and become more aware of your body and yourself. It helps people to release pressure, harmonize the heart, the body, and the affairs in daily life. Especially, for people who work hard at desk, the tea steaming meditation helps to cure the tiredness of the eyes and improve the eyesight, Yoga and Daoyin exercise help to relieve the pain and stress on the shoulders and neck.

This sorority is formed with the intent to affiliate with a National Panhellenic Conference sorority (i.e. becoming nationally affiliate with an official sorority organization rather than remaining a local sorority). A fraternity is also moving forward to form a Greek community at Cambridge.
If you would be interested in potentially joining, please fill out this very short information form here: http://goo.gl/forms/ggcfbGCKgi . We will be in touch and moving forward in the near future!

[JOB OPPORTUNITY] Social media start-up seeking computer science collaboration.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tindr, Snapchat… The big players in the digitalisation of social interaction require little introduction.
Innovation in social media has transformed the ways in which people meet, share and communicate.
The potent combination of speed, reach and accessibility is now responsible for similar changes in ways in which consumers follow and interact with celebrities.
Whether we like it or not, the cult of celebrity is more rampant than ever. But now it demands an equally energetic voyeur public who likes and comments, culls and carps – at will.
Digital media is also generating changes in the ways in which companies advertise their products and services.
Ultra-low cost advertising streams, with the right content and direction, can be successfully monetised by harnessing the popularity of existing users. ‘High volume-low investment’ is the new model for those looking to market to more discriminating consumers.
Our digital startup is working out of London to create a new model for advertising which combines the addictive thrill of social media with the financial promise of a wide-ranging popular presence.
If you’re a computer scientist with a creative streak who wants to gain valuable experience working with two Oxbridge PHDs on this exciting digital project, then please contact modelsiview with your CV and cover letter (optional).
