[Job Opportunity] Group Leaders for groups of Chinese undergraduate students
“We are looking for fun, friendly and enthusiastic individuals to be
Group Leaders for groups of Chinese undergraduate students. Your role
will be to provide cultural immersion, local knowledge and to help the
Chinese University Staff escort students between the events on the
course itinerary, this will be a mixture of lectures (from STEM to
Business) and activities around Cambridge (punting, afternoon tea,
cinema) and a couple of day trips to London and Oxford. You are not
required to teach, or lead, any activities.
The pay is £13 per hour, and you can expect to earn over £1000 if you
work 7 days. There will also be an upfront payment, as a goodwill
gesture, and a bonus (based on a % of your overall hours worked) if you
receive positive feedback from the students and Chinese University
Staff.
Accommodation is also offered for free if you need somewhere to stay
during the tour. The students will be living and working in either
Churchill, Fitzwilliam or Wolfson College, depending on which dates you
work. You will also be provided with free meals and obviously free entry
to all activities that the students do.
There will be at least 2 Group Leaders assigned to each group, so that
you can arrange between yourselves to cover each other if you have other
commitments or appointments. We expect all Group Leaders to work a
minimum of 1 week (7 days). Both Group Leaders will escort students on
day trips away, whereas for all Cambridge based activities, only one
Group Leader needs to be in attendance.
It is a really fun experience and an opportunity to build bonds and
learn about another culture (while also being paid).”
