[JOB OPPORTUNITY] Call for Cambridge Residential Seminar Assistant
Job description:
Several groups of university students from Asia will attend winter residential seminars in Cambridge. The seminars are organised by China UK Development Centre and Maxer Education Institute. The positions advertised are for Seminar Assistants. The programme mainly consists of academic lectures, visits, and social activities, with the aim of offering students a short yet exciting studying and living experience at Cambridge. The seminars will take place in January and February. The dates for each seminar will be as follows:
Seminar 1: 09 January – 22 January, 2017
Seminar 2: 10 January – 23 January, 2017
Seminar 3: 15 January – 26 January, 2017
Seminar 4: 03 February – 16 February, 2017
Seminar 5: 07 February – 20 February, 2017
Seminar 6: 11 February – 18 February, 2017
Job Responsibility:
As a Seminar Assistant, you will be responsible for helping out during students’ local visits (including trips to London and Oxford), social activities, lectures, supervisions and logistics (e.g., airport transfers). Specifically:
Visits: Ensuring the smoothness of visits to help students have an enjoyable and safe experience in Cambridge, London, and Oxford.
Lectures: Ensuring the smoothness of lectures.
Social Activities: Socialising with students, sharing your university experience and helping out with organisation of activities.
Supervision: Leading supervisions to help students prepare their final presentations.
Logistics: Helping with airport transfers, welcome reception, etc.
Eligibility:
Essential: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Essential: Experience of working effectively within a team
Desirable: University members or alumni
Desirable: Prior experiences in event organising
Salary:
Up to £700 (£400 fixed salary + a bonus of up to £300)
All dinners provided
Reduced workload and payment for Seminars 3 and 6
