[EVENT] Synapse UK connect 2016
Synapse – Life Science Connect is a non-profit, student-driven organisation situated in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our goal is to bridge the gap between academia and industry through different events such as lectures, conferences, workshops and our Biobusiness Summer School. This April we will be bringing 40 highly ambitious MSc and PhD life science students to Cambridge and London to discover the biotech and medtech clusters. In extension to our trip we will be visiting the University of Cambridge on Tuesday the 19th of April where we have invited guest speakers to talk about the connections between University and industry.
Program:
- Department of Technology Transfer Cambridge: Will be giving us a short talk on Cambridge University spinouts and the overall processes necessary in relation to this topic.
- Malcolm Bates – a named partner at Taylor Wessing, who has a strong background in law as well as a PhD in molecular genetics. Malcolm has specialized particularly on commercialisation of intellectual property rights, but advises on various topics.
Time and place:
- 19th of April from 9am-12pm at Clare college, Trinity Lane, Cambridge CB2 1TL, Latimer Room
The event is free of charge and all Cambridge students are welcome.
