Trinity College Music Society and the Iambe Company present  Mozart’s most accomplished opera seria, Idomeneo. This is a rare chance to see this seldom-performed masterpiece in the beautiful Trinity Chapel.

The story resonates with the current plight of the refugees braving tempests to finally arrive in Greece where they struggle to settle. A rivalry between father and son; a struggle between affection for the ruling enemy or loyalty to destroyed homelands; a dilemma between religious beliefs and family values; a yearning for love and security when tossed onto a foreign shore; a quest for independence as a young adult: Our characters have it all to face in this very human drama, made all the more powerful with Mozart’s beautiful and emotive music.
