[EVENT] Students for Global Health Cambridge

Students for Global Health Cambridge are proud to present ‘The hidden problem of female genital mutilation (FGM) in the UK’ – an event for International Women’s Day, on Wednesday 13th March 19:30-20:00 in the Bowett Room of Queen’s College.

The event will feature a conversation between Dr. Charlotte Proudman, a human rights barrister, activist and fellow of Queen’s college, and Dr. Leyla Hussein, a psychotherapist who founded The Dahlia Project, the UK’s first specialist therapeutic service for FGM survivors, and co-founded anti-FGM charity Daughters of Eve. Together they will discuss the laws that are supposed to protect women from FGM in the UK, why it is still so prevalent, how we can support victims and how we can eradicate this practice in the UK.
